How to burn LOTS of calories
We had a great hike today to lower and upper Palisades. Not only was it fun, but we discovered that we burned around 3000 calories on that hike! Great scenery, great weather, great friends . . . an all around good day.
Mark your calendars for our next hike to Union Falls on June 29th.
I'm doing well--5th day of meeting my goals and also no sweets. It really makes a difference in how I feel! I'm glad everyone else is doing well too.
One other thing I wanted to mention--I've been thinking lately about how I don't like my upper legs. Most of my excess weight seems to gather between my waist and knees. I was actually thinking about that on the hike when I ran (not literally) into a man who was hiking with an artificial leg. It made me very grateful that I have two legs that work well--even if they're not exactly the shape I'd like :) We're all very blessed to be so healthy and have all of our parts! (at least the important ones)

Funny you mentioned the guy with the missing leg. I was just complaining to Heather that my legs were tired when I saw him and I knew I needed to be grateful. Such a good day. Thanks friends, it was a fun group. Loved burning all those calories and the company was fabulous. I split a milkshake with Dave tonight and the small thing was 720 calories so no more of those. Let's keep going strong till weigh in on Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI love that we all noticed the man with the artificial leg and we all were instantly grateful we had legs to be tired! We most certainly are very very blessed! I would also echo your comments about the amazingly awesome hike today!! I'm looking forward to many more! GM for the 5th day in a row, I second the comment about how great it feels!
