Hey

I am so proud of those of you that are sticking to your goals. For those of us that have crashed and burned there is January just around the corner. Heather and Kim you are awesome, maybe some of the rest of you are also but are just not blogging. I am still feeding the 5000, well actually the number has dropped so now it is only the 2000 so I will start when they all go home. Still not sure when some of them are leaving. I think they have to go to work on Monday but had no idea they were staying this long. I plan to send all the junk food home with them.

green canyon hamburger...

So I took the kids to green canyon for some swimming today and I had a hamburger! It was greasy and delish. However it was not my free day today....bad heather! So I did meet my excerise goals today but pretty sure the hamburgerdoesnt work well for body for life. Oh well one day for not meeting nutrition this month....I'm happy with it.

Christmas is over....

Well Christmas has come and gone...that's good and bad. Hope everyone had a great day and hope everyone is ready for the goals to come. Its exciting to look back on all my accomplishments this last year. I've lost 86 lbs, I ran a half marathon, I met some wonderful friends who have helped me along the way. I'm even more excited for this coming year and to finish the journey of weight loss and reach my "goal" finally!! I'm even more excited to run in some half marathons and races this year and to be strong and finish in some goal time. Thank you all for your help this last year....I could not have done it without all your help, encouragement, and accountability. I look forward to all we can accomplish in 2011!

Christmas Joy

Merry Merry to everyone. What a fun day. I have way over drinken today...Mt Dew is soooo good and soooo bad for you. I have had 3 cans today and blah I feel so gross. I have not done too bad on eating though...just pop. Today was my free day. I met my goals. I hope everyone has had a blessed day with family.
Kim~ I signed up for the SLC half marathon today so it's official we are registered!! There is still plenty of time to train and sign up ladies! It would be fun for everyone to come and participate. :)

Happy Christmas Eve

I may not be blogging for a few days since I will be feeding the 5000 until about Thursday. I am thinking it will be rough to do low carb so I think I will start over on Dec 30th. I made myself get on the scale today and I am the same weight I was at the start of December. I know some of you valiant ones have lost weight but I am just grateful to not have gained some. I have been exercising pretty faithfully so I guess that works. Happy holidays, keep up the good work. You guys are a great support system and wonderful friends. Merry Christmas.

Christmas is coming!

How's everyone doing? I hope the reason few people are commenting is that we're all just too busy to get to the computer!

We just got back from a fun trip to Salt Lake. I ran on the treadmill at the hotel this morning. It seemed really easy and I couldn't decide if I've gotten stronger or if the treadmill numbers were off. I also met my eating goals despite the fact that my favorite travelling companion brought unhealthy food into the car.

Hard times

I have no idea what is going on with me these past few days but goodness all I want to do is eat....I have not given in and done so (other then my allowed food choices and amounts) but goodness it's all I can do to stay on track. Everything sounds good and looks good. Christmas can not come soon enough...that is my next free day. I did meet my goals today for food and am heading to the gym in 10 minutes to go my stuff. Best of LUCK to everyone...this week is hard on the eating!!

I'm not counting

Our numbers seem to be a bit slim lately. But, I'm sure everyone still has healthy living on their mind!

I met my goals today despite attending a birthday party and also receiving a plate of brownies. I would be really proud of myself for resisting, but it wasn't hard! I have quite a bit of sewing to do this week, but I've decided that I'm not going to let my exercise slide. I know that when I take the time to exercise and eat healthfully, I actually have more time because I have so much more energy. I hope the rest of you are doing well, but even if you're not, it would be great to hear from everyone!!

7 days to go but who is counting

I have noticed that not everyone is blogging these days including me. In my case that means my goals have flown out the window. I am 11 of 18 for exercise goals and only 8 of 18 for nutrition goals. The good thing is I have done better in December with the HLC than I would have without it. Thanks for your example and your ability to stick to it. This next week will be better for me, no more baking to be done (next year I am rethinking that whole thing). Keep up the good work and I will join you in your success. I have not dared weigh for a week but will do it after a few days of success. Keep up the good work I am joining you again.

Friday and only one week left to shop

Hello Ladies! I am happy to report that I met my goals today. I even had a date tonight with my son and he wanted to go to Cafe Rio and Cocoa Bean. SO we went and I had a salad without dressing and no torilla...and NO cupcake for me. He had one and I watched him eat it. To tell you the truth it was not too hard to resist. Happy Friday and here's to a goal met weekend! :)

Yep...still have to shop. I met my goals today. Today was hard though...I really wanted the homemade toffee and cookies that were surrounding me @ work. But I was able to hold off for my free day on Saturday. Hope everyone else found success today.

Starting again

OK. Four days of eating fudge and pumpkin bread. Oops. I passed the goodies along to others so today I start fresh. I felt so much better 4 days ago. Why do we do this? Headed to Utah today to help out my parents, be back tomorrow. Hope to see all of you at the Relief Society meeting tomorrow at 7:00. 11 days til Christmas...

CRAZY how the time if flying!! I still have not made it shopping, why not wait I guess. :) Thanks for all your kind words yesterday, you guys are too kind and give me too much credit. Well I am happy to report that another day of goals has been met on my part. I will head to the gym here in an hour or so and work on legs and abs...always fun! I forgot to report that I lost another 2 lbs this last week...yea!! I feel amazingly stronger then ever. I am starving today however and that is not so fun....but I have managed to just stay on track and try to ignore my stomach rumbling. Hope everyone has had a great goal met day.

Great Scott where has the month gone...I need to get shopping! I don't know how many of you get the bountiful basket's but if you don't you should! I am finding that I eat many more veggies and fruit then I used to and it's only 15 for a huge amount of produce. I had 2 diffrent kinds of squash for dinner and I met my goals today! Day 10. I think we are all doing great. I met my goals again today. I have missed two days of exercise and two days of eating right, since I too have a free day once a week I will have to be careful for the next 4 days. I met my goals today, hope you did too. It is getting harder the closer Christmas gets as I know treats will be arriving more frequently. Dave brought home a big box of chocolates today. Tough stuff. Just say no!

I talked to Heather on the phone today. We were both having weak moments and wanted to eat something yummy and unhealthy but she convinced me that she was not going to give in so neither did I. What do you use to get you past that "I'm not really hungry, but want something tasty" time? Mine are Sugar Free Werthers candy (I like all 3 flavors, regular caramel, mint caramel, & cinnamon caramel). I met my goals today. I walked on the treadmill first thing this morning--my day goes much better when I do that rather than try to fit exercise in later in the day. Hope you all had a great Tuesday!

6lbs down

Hip Hip Hooray...first week of Body for Life and I am 6 lbs down. I feel great and have good energy. The most wonderful thing of all though is that I don't feel like I am starving or sacrificing anything on Body for Life!! I am loving it. I can say that I met my goals as I am heading to the gym in about an hour to burn some calories on the elipical while I watch my favorite TV show. Life is good and I hope everyone had a fantastic Monday!!

I decided to go ahead and post since I'm done eating for the day plus I did a step video this morning. So, I met my goals today!

Congratulations Ilene on the 5 lb loss. I also like your point about being one of the few groups of women who will weigh less after Christmas than before. It's always nice to be unique.

I'm still slightly suffering the effects of an overindulgent free day. I learned a good lesson though, and I know my next free day (next Friday) will go much better!

the last day of November

Well, the Christmas season is truly upon us! At my school, even though over half of us are trying to avoid sugar, someone decided that we should take turns bringing treats throughout the month so that there will be a new treat each day in the faculty room. I didn't want yesterday's treat, but today's looked quite good, so I took a piece and wrapped it up for Friday--my free day! I'm feeling really good after only 2 days on Body for Life, so I don't think I'm going to eat as much junk on Friday as I thought I would.

It was good to hear from Heather and Ilene--you both have great goals and I know you'll get your $5. back. To a fun and healthy December!

A Renewed Effort

It was great meeting with everyone today. I feel inspired!

Even though it's still November, I'm starting my December goals today. I met my goals today.

My goals for December:
1. Follow the Body for Life nutrition program.
2. Continue with ChaLean Extreme on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
3. Run (on the treadmill-boo!) on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

I hope to lose at least 10 lbs. by the next time we meet, but of course I'll be happy with more. At our next meeting (Jan. 3), let's all report how we did over this 5 week period as far as weight loss or maintenance goes.

Happy end of Thanksgiving!

It sounds like we all had a great week . . . Now it's time to start thinking about Christmas! We could all throw in the towel and say we'll start fresh in January OR we could figure out ways to enjoy this holiday season plus maintain or improve our health. Which will it be??

At our last meeting we planned to meet tomorrow (the 29th) at Ilene's from 5:30 to 6. I hope everyone can make it. Bring your great ideas to keep us motivated!

My cup runnith over.....

Hello Friends in the HLC!! I am beyond grateful today for the blessing of making change and the opportunities we are given everyday to live life and to enjoy the choices we make. We are truly blessed!! I am excited to report that tomorrow I am starting the program Body for Life. I am super excited to have some more strict eating going on and the weight program is great and really does show results. I started a running program a few weeks ago and that is going great and I am really looking forward to running the SLC half Marathon with Kim in April. Running is sooo exhilarating!!! I met my goals today and hope everyone else is having a successful blessed day!

Freaky Friday

Heather thanks for the great post yesterday. It brought tears to my eyes. We do have so much to be grateful for and you are right about the great friendship in the HLC. Congratulations and thanks for all of you for your examples not only in healthy living but in living quality lives. I must confess that this whole week has been a mess for me for exercise and nutrition. When all my company leaves on Sunday I am throwing away all the junk food and starting over on Monday. Just like repentence we can try try again. In December I am going to be more successful. I need to figure out how to keep it together when I have people staying here. Any suggestions would be helpful as December will be crazy.

THANKSGIVING!!

HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVERYONE!!! What a fantastic day to be with family and friend and do one of my favorite things of all time......eat and gab!! :) I wanted to post first today...so since it turned today 13 minutes ago....anyway I wanted to let you all know how grateful I am for your friendship, encouragement, and pushing in this drive and journey to get to a healthy me. Here is to us!! I will post tomorrow night that I met my goals, because well I am going to the gym first thing tomorrow morning after a 5K, and working double!!

Sunday the 7th

I hear the weather is changing--but, luckily we HLC members don't allow anything to get in the way of our goals!

I slacked off a bit this last week. Luckily I didn't gain any weight, but I didn't lose any either. I've been reading a lot about the evils of sugar both in an article Ilene lent me (it's still safe, Ilene!) and on the internet. This article has some interesting information about the actual physical pull sugar, fat, and salt have on us. We may want to discuss this at our next meeting (Monday, Nov. 29, 5:30 at Ilene's in case you didn't know) or you may want to read this article. We need to know the enemy, right?

Halloween Saturday

Looks like all of us skipped Friday. I am afraid some Halloween candy called to me today. I am starting over on Monday so whatever is not gone tomorrow is out of my house. Nearly Halloween

It is almost Halloween and I am proud to say that I have not eaten any Halloween candy this year. I had a great day today. I got in a 4 mile walk in the beautiful sunshine and did well nutritionally until a small box of mint covered fudge oreos fell into my shopping cart. Five oreos later I was mad at myself. They were yummy though. Hope you all had a great day. Looking forward to the meeting on Monday.

I'm out of creative things to say at the moment.

It's been great to hear from everyone! You're all doing great, and I'm especially impressed with the fact that we keep picking ourselves up no matter how many times we "mess up."

Heather and I decided tonight that we're going to run the Salt Lake City half marathon in April. We plan to be super skinny by then, so it should be easy (haha). Anyone want to join us?????

Wonderful weather

I hiked cress creek today with 6 of the grandkids, such fun. I am afraid we took along some junk food so I did not meet my goals today. Great day though. Glad you are with us Lisa, congrats on the 5 pound loss.

Is everyone planning on hiking on the 22nd? Palisaides lakes, beautiful place. I believe it is 4 miles to the lower one and 7 to the upper one. The lower one is not very pretty but the upper is gorgeous. Not very steep. Hopefully the weather will be fine. Probably an all day event, leave at 6:30 to be back by 5 or so. Let me know if you are in.

I am planning on meeting my goals today, since I have company coming it may be hard. I am posting early so I won't forget and also to remind you about the Wicked tickets. OK. It doesn't sound as good a Monday, Monday. Oh sure, I leave town for a few days and all sorts of things happen. So proud of you guys that are doing so well but Heather had the best, most interesting news. Do tell. We want to know how you met and what he is like. So great for you. Can't wait for hike day so we have all day to get the scoop. Speaking of hiking who can go? Should we announce in R S again to see if others want to come?

I am three for three for the last 6 days. Some good and some bad. I weighed and I did not lose but I was just happy not to have gained. I did buy some fun clothes while in St George. Hope things are going well for all of you wonderful women.

A little momma's and papa's for everyone. (you know you are hearing it in your head) I met my goals today. Life is soo good and yes I have details to give you all about this "friend" of mine. We are getting married next week! LOL totally kidding. No Jonathan and I are really enjoying each other's company and he really puts a smile on my face. I am smitten with the man thus far. We have spent everyday together since we met and I look forward to seeing what might happen with the relationship. He makes me laugh all the time and there is definitely chemistry. I pretty much think he is a cutie!

It sounds like a few of us are going to be out of town this weekend. Ilene mentioned she's going somewhere, Cherie is going to St. George, and I'm going to Utah. Anyone else? I think it can be a challenge to stick to your goals when you're out of your regular zone, but I know we can do it. No title I am not feeling creative

I met my goals today. My goals are the same for October as they were for September. Maybe this month I will actually do them. Stay under 60 carbs a day. Exercise 6 days a week, 6 cardio days and 3 weight days also. Weigh every Monday. Keep an exercise and food journal each day. Hope your day is going well and your goals are being met. It was a great day here--listening to conference, nice weather, etc.

I had some challenges, but I did meet my goals.

My goals for the month:
1. Strictly follow the pre-planned menu I created for the month.
2. Weight-lifting on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
3. At least 30 minutes aerobic exercise on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
(P.S. My plan included NO Halloween candy!)

Ok, Here I Go....

Hey Ladies! Thanks for letting me know about the HLC. I'm thrilled! I'm a pretty motivated person, but lately I've had trouble motivating myself, so the HLC has come into my life at the perfect time! I definitely need your support and goal setting ideas to get me goin!

Today I set my October goals:

1. At least an hour of cardio 3x a week.
2. 100 crunches and 20 push-ups a day M-F
3. Get 15lbs. off my gorgeous body that is hiding underneath all this fat :0) tee hee

My goal for the outlet shopping trip is to be in a size 12.

I am excited for the bad habits I will lose and for the friends I will gain!

End of September meeting

We had a nice meeting tonight--lots of items were discussed. First, welcome to Lisa Morales! Ilene won the September contest with 100% days goal met! Wow! If you weren't at the meeting, please get $10. to me. I really don't like to be a money collector. If you didn't pay in September, maybe you could contribute $5. to the fun fund for that month. We're up to $55. by the way. We decided we should each determine our own goals for the month of October and then post them on this blog. We'll be making the Palisades hike on Oct. 22nd. We decided to postpone the Harriman cross country/snow-shoeing trip to January. Lisa is organizing a group to go to Time Out for Women on Nov. 19 and 20th. Contact her if you're interested. Some of us are planning a "I finally made my goal!" trip to the Park City outlet mall on Feb. 21st. Let me know if you're interested in that. We are also planning to go to Boise to see Wicked on Saturday, May 14, 2pm. If we can get a group of 20 or more, we can get our tickets now. Those who are interested need to decide in the next week or so, and Cherie will make the reservation. 50% of the price is due about 2 weeks after the reservation with the remainder due by Dec. 31st. The tickets are about $147/85/65/55. Those may not be the exact amounts--but something like that. If you know of anyone else who is interested, please have them call Cherie.

Well, we sound like a busy crew, but really, these activities are taking place over a period of 8 months. I wish everyone a very successful and healthy October. Who cares that there's Halloween candy everywhere?

I admit it

OK I admit it I have had a terrible month when it comes to eating nutritionally. The only thing that has saved me from total disaster is that exercise is wonderful and I love it. Especially exercising outside. I am going to be brave tomorrow (it is too late today because I have to do it first thing in order to not have eaten anything) and weigh and measure and write down the bad news. Maybe this will get me to start over. Some of my jeans are getting tight (never a good sign) and I gave away my bigger size so I guess I had better get back on the program. Not only am I not in the running to win the $ this month but you should all make me pay more. Enough already. I will post tomorrow with the bad news since I know you guys are in my corner and will encourage me to do better. Congrats to those of you that are doing well. I hope to join your group. I did well for 6 months so I can certainly do it again. Venting feels good. Thanks.

Saturday the 18th

We had a great time hiking Table Rock, and yes, we made it to the top! It was the perfect day and well worth the effort. I hope everyone is feeling okay today. I definitely found a few new leg muscles, but my feet survived just fine.

A few housekeeping items: I sent out emails awhile ago suggesting we change our meeting time. I need to apologize for that because I know we had already agreed to meet on the 30th at our last meeting, so I should have just left that alone! So, let's plan to meet on Sept. 30th at 5:30 at Ilene's. Please bring $10 for Sept if you haven't paid, $10 for October, and the number of days in September that your met your goals. Do we also want to report pounds lost during the month? Maybe that could be optional. Also, at our last meeting we agreed that we would give Cherie a written copy of our goals, so if you haven't done that yet, please bring it to the meeting. We'll be talking about our next regular outing, a possible October hike, and a possible BIG outing in May. Anything else?

Keep up the good work everyone! I've been wondering if we should open up a consignment store to get rid of all the clothes we're shrinking out of (just kidding).

Hike

Hey. I am still doing well with exercise but not nutrition. Chocolate has not been my friend. I have maintained my weight now for 4 months so I am happy about that but will have to do better to lose more.

I called the forest service and they said hiking table rock by Friday should be fine. They said the snow that arrived is mostly gone and it should be good weather. Let's be to my house just before 7 am and leave by 7. We will need good shoes, lunch, snacks, lots of water and clothes for all kinds of weather. If you have questions call me.

Looking forward to hiking on Friday

Sounds like table rock may be too snow covered to hike. I will check with the forest service tomorrow and see what they say. If we can't go there, we could do the wind caves or Palisades lakes. Any preference from the group.

We invited who ever was interested at R S today and it sounds like those that can go and want to are me, Kim, Heather, Elise, Julie Meldrum, Melanie Jacobson, Mary DeYoung and Annette? If you can think of any one else invite away.

I will let you know what I find out and we could make other plans if need be. Let me know if you have a preference of the others or a better idea.

I exercised well today but eating continues to be a problem for me. What is up? How are the rest of you doing? I need some inspiration.

How's it going?

Going well here in the crazy house. I have been feeding 16 or so people for the last few days through tomorrow. It is hard to be good when that is going on and also hard to get in exercise. Hope the rest of you are doing better than I am. Day two of poor eating and day one of poor exercise but Tuesday I will have my house and my life back. Terrific Tuesday

Hey, I get to be first! It's been great to hear from everyone. I met my goals today. Tuesday is supposed to be my rest day from exercise, but I've felt a little lost without it today. (I know that may sound weird, but I think I'm getting addicted to exercise!) I decided that starting next Tuesday I'm going to do the Saturday ChaLean workout on Tuesdays. I haven't been doing ChaLean on Sat because we've been running so long that day. In case you're wondering, I just completed the first 60 days of the 90 day program. I'm not sure if I look different, but I know I've developed some good muscles which at the moment are hidden under the fat. But once I get rid of the excess, I should be pretty buff haha.

I am happy to report that I lost another lb today, putting my total at 70 since we began the HLC. I have met my goals today with nutrition and plan to head out running in just over an hour. 10th

Hello everyone! Yea to hear from so many. I had a fantastic time in Utah. I also want to report that yesterday when I weighted myself I had lost 5 lbs!! I am only 2 away from where I wanted to be when I run the half marathon and I have 3 weeks until we run that,, so I am excited about that. However what I am not excited to report is, that I sure didn't meet my nutrition goals that last 2 days. I did however meet my exercises goals. I enjoyed some Mrs. Field's cookies and a few corn dogs. But other then eating those few things I did eat really well, so overall not to shabby. Kim the door is open for you to sweep in and take the cash! :) Have a fantastic Wednesday friends!!

We are about out of food and are here for two more days so the next few should be easy and the grocery store is very far away and hard to get to. I may be eating lots of coconut. Hello Friends!! Today has been successful for me~ I met my goals. I even made homemade oatmeal/chocolate chip cookies and spaghetti. I had veggies and Chicken and no cookies, while the family had the rest. Yea for me. I won't be able to post tomorrow since I will be at Lagoon. Hello from the jungle

We have been out in the jungles of Guatemala for a few days at a mayan ruin called Tikal. It was hard to find any protein to eat so my diet is all out of whack but I walked and hiked until I thought I would fall apart. Lots of monkeys, birds etc. Good on the exercise front not so much on the diet part. So good to have you with us Kathy and congrats on your success. Way to go the rest of you either staying on track or getting back to it. Thanks for your inspiration.

Rainy Tuesday

It has been raining buckets here since about 9:00. Luckily I got in a walk right before it started. I cannot believe the amount of rain that has come down, probably more than Idaho gets all year.

I weighted myself today as I do every Monday and I only lost .6 lbs so I was initially disappointed, but then realized that the body does slow down and that not every week will there be a weight loss on the scale. So I am great with it, I know that if I stick with things it will come. Most likely next week will be a good loss. Hope everyone else is doing great.

Sunday in the sun

Hope it is sunny there. Doing well here. Dave's brother and his wife came to join us and they brought lots of junk food. Been a hard for me today. Exercise good, food bad. Day one of a new month and I am 50%. I would like to hear what people's goals are for the month. I would like to lose some more (5 to 10 pounds). I will do this by eating less than 40 carbs per day and exercising at least one hour five days a week. I will chart my eating and exercise each day (even on vacation) and weigh when I get home and then once a week. What are the rest of you planning? One of us needs to give Heather some competition. Saturday, I think

Hi again. I am alive and kicking and doing quite well with my exercise and diet goals. I tried to go into town today for a yoga class but I missed the boat literally. Instead I walked down the beach a few miles. Other than one scary dog it was fabulous. I doubt I have lost weight but I don't think I have gained either. Hope all of you are doing well. Hey. Internet is working for the moment so I am happy to report that things are going well. It is so easy not to eat junk for when you are miles away from any grocery store whatsoever. Sunny Sunday

I am off on vacation for 2 and a half weeks. Wish me luck. The good thing about where we stay is that all food is 1/2 hour away by boat and the boat only goes in a few times a day so if I watch what I buy there should be no junk food to tempt me. I can't get in the car and go to Reed's Dairy. It would seem that there is time to exercise also but we will see. Walking on a beautiful beach sounds like a good way to spend lots of time. Keep me posted about how you are doing and I will do the same.

Tuesday the 20th

We only have 10 more days to go on this month's HLC~ I am excited to report that I have met everything 100% thus far and feel great. Today I went to the bank to make a deposit and the teller that always helps me told me how great I looked and wanted to know if I was doing that HCG diet. It's so fun to have people notice all the hard work and to hear compliments. It was nice to be able to tell her that No, it's not the HCG diet, it's good ol fashion hard work! I met my goals today.

Windy sunday

Not catchy I know. I felt so good this morning after having done great with diet and exercise for a few days but had to make brownies for an event and have been snitching the whole time. Yuck. It does not feel good to have that much sugar. Why do I do this? Can you guys tell me since I know you have done it also(maybe not lately). Oh well I have dumped out the left over frosting and put all the dishes in the sink, before I licked them clean so upward and onward. I will get a walk in later. Hope you weekends are going well. Thrilling Thursday

Greetings from Menden, Nevada (just south of Reno). We've had a good trip, and I'm happy to say I've met my eating goals today. There have been some challenges, but I did okay. Welcome back Renee, I hope we get to hear from you on the blog every day. We have missed you. Congratulation to all of you that are doing awesome (everyone, it sounds like). You are an inspiration to me as well as just plain fun to be around. I am looking forward to going to Jackson and hiking etc this weekend with you guys.

Good days for exercise not so good for healthy eating. Treats at Bear Lake were plentiful and sweet. As for the report for my goals, I have met exercise goals 28/30. Nutrition goals 20/30 (not so good). Weight loss 0. I have not lost any weight but was trying to maintain. I think the next 30 days I will shoot to lose 5 more pounds. I need to watch my carbs closer and I feel better when I am being stricter about junk food.

Hey there ladies....have you missed me? :) My life has been crazy busy lately but I am determined to stay focused on my goals of losing weight and becoming a healthier person! I am still going to personal training and exercise classes in the mornings! I feel like I do a ton of running around just in my daily activities of taking care of my kids, etc...Things are going well. I am down about 7 pounds since starting training. I am hoping for the best...it has been so hard but I am determined to make it through! I am proud of the things I have been accomplishing so far and look forward to what is yet to come! Hello again

Hey all. Thanks Kim and Heather for keeping up the posts. Hope both of you are feeling better, Kim from being sore and Heather from being sick. Both put a damper on exercise. I was in Boise for a couple days and was too busy playing with the grandkids to blog. I did meet my exercise and nutrition goals though. I feel good this morning even though I have been up since 3:15. Can't seem to sleep much these days.

I am in for the fire cracker, Kim, I will get my money to you this morning. Thanks for the encouragement. We will be running/walking instead of eating at the ward breakfast.

Miss you Renae and Elise. We need to plan our weekend get away soon so a meeting for the 30 day mark would be good. Maybe Ilene and Julie could come to or at least get their ideas in. What about Sunday afternoon or evening? I will be gone for most of next week, at least until Friday. I will see some of you tomorrow.

Bone and Back Recovery

I had so much fun today and being with such good people!! I need to recover though~ I am tired tonight and my darn sunburn is killing me. I have been eating carbs today and I will definatly be going back to atkin's tomorrow. I like the feeling of atkin's much better. Didn't meet my eating goal today (although I have not really eaten badly either) but for sure met the exercise. :) Love to you all!!!

I met my goals today. I am super motivated right now and am really looking forward to Bone and Back!! I am going to go walk my part on Saturday and see what my time is, as well as see how much sweat I can produce. :)
Kim~ you are doing awesome, it's so hard when you are away from home to stay with it completely (especially when you can not control the food choices) so great job to you on the exercise! Lately as I have been working out, I have been paying attention to my heart rate, and it takes me a lot harder level and pace to get my heart rate up to the 150's then it used to. Yea for getting in shape and a heart that is used to getting worked out. There are so many benefits to consistent workouts!! I met my goals today.

12 lbs

I seriously lost 12 lbs in the last week!!! I don't really believe it, but got on the scale 3 different times and sure enough....12 lbs down. To say I am happy about it is an understatement...I am ecstatic!!!! SO that standstill for 3 weeks really paid off this week, I just need to remember that in the future and be patient with my body. Hope you all had a great Monday, I met my goals!

Saturday is a special day

it's the day we get ready for Sunday... that little song has been in my head today, so I thought I would share. I met my goals for today, (even thought I really didn't want to eat Atkins all day I wanted to order pizza for dinner) I made chef salad for dinner instead. I was thinking of driving out to the course tomorrow about 1:30~ does that work for anyone/everyone??? I figure we should only be gone 1 hour, let me know if you want to go and if that time works, or else I will just go out there. Keep fighting the good fight ladies~ :)

I definitely earned my exercise points today--ChaLean Extreme for 55 minutes, then Elise and I jogged about 2 miles, and then we went to Craters of the Moon and went on a few hikes!

Day 3--Woweee!

I know it's a little early to report for the day, but I just wanted to comment on how much better I feel after only 2 days of healthy eating. This morning I just woke up happy--for no reason! It was great. Heather's been saying the same thing, and I wanted to second this idea. Go healthy living!

Day 2

This is day two of HLC phase 2. How is it going for everyone? I did great on my exercise today with my favorite step class. I love it. Eating was OK too but I am wandering the house looking for food tonight. I need to go for a walk or go finish the book club book instead.

My goals for this phase are to lose 10 more pounds (including the 2 I have gained back) and then keep all of them off. A pound a week would be OK with me.

I plan to:
Keep my net carbs below 40 until I reach goal weight and then figure out the # to maintain
Track what I eat each day including carb count in HLC journal
Track exercise in HLC journal - work out for at least one hour at least 5 days a week
Include weight training for 3 of those days
Weigh once a week and measure once a month

I am walking away from the kitchen NOW!

My Crazy BUSY Life!

I am so excited for healthy change to come into my life! I have been trying for so long...I am really hoping that this exercise will really start to pay off! In the meantime - I am trying to do the best that I can with summer here, coaching t-ball and baseball, moving, etc...The craziness of it all! Good luck to all of you! Here's to good health!

Starting day

Hooray for starting a new!! I know that I feel super today and wonder why I ever eat carbs and sugar...when not eating them makes me feel so much better. I have felt better today then I have in a whole week. I got on the scale this morning and seriously gained 6 lbs last week!!! What the??? That is insane in one week. Goes to show I am a completely out of control eating who doesn't know how to stop eating!! It's alright though I am back on track and excited to hit the gym in an hour for some good cardio! Best of luck my friend...Carry on in the good fight!!!

Phase 2!

Here is a recap of what we decided to do:
1. Each person will contribute $15. to the HLC envelope.
2. Tomorrow, June 7th, is Day 1. We will continue until Saturday, Sept. 4th which will be Day 90.
3. On Monday, June 7th, weigh and take whatever measurements you want. (I'm also taking a "Before" picture, but I'm not planning on sharing it!) Be sure to record all these numbers in a safe, secure place!
4. Each person will determine her own nutritional and exercise goals.
5. Share your goals on this site as soon as possible. You can do it as a post or put it in today's comments section.
6. Keep a daily journal of what you ate, your exercise, and your feelings connected with all of that.
7. We will meet again ASAP after day 30, day 60, and day 90. On those days we will weigh and re-measure to report the changes to the group.
8. On the meeting days, we will also each report how many days we met our exercise and nutritional goals. Let's report those as two separate numbers.
9. At the end of the 90 days, we will determine who has the highest percentage of days during which their goals were met. Whoever has the highest percentage gets all the money! Ideally we'll all have 100% and will receive the money back.
10. No one will be assigned a particular day to post. Whoever goes to the site first should start the post for that day. You can share an article if you want, or you can just say how you're doing.
11. Everyone should try her hardest to post or comment each day! Even just "I met my goals" is good enough.

Did I get it all right? I'm pretty excited about this. I've let myself slip the last month or so, so this will be a good motivation to get back on track. I hope you all find it beneficial too!
