New start

Good meeting today. I am so excited to have Kathy and Annette in the group and also to have Ilene and Julie returning. Such fun. It will be great to continue to be healthy together. I am starting on my new goals tomorrow (I have already blown it today) but tomorrow is better than waiting for Wednesday.

Aug. 28

We did it! Heather and I completed the half-marathon this morning, and since we're still walking and talking, all is well. The Mesa Falls course is beautiful. We're already planning to do it again next year, and we'd love company!

Summer is coming to an end way to fast. Can't believe I already had to cover my garden. So far so good today with exercise and eating. I even did OK going out to lunch. I am heading to SLC and may get in a little shopping. Fun.

Lets get together

Hey all. I need a shot in the arm to quit eating junk. I also have missed our monthly meetings so lets have one. Kim suggested Friday Aug 27 and that sounds good to me. I think she is going to email around to get a time and place set up. I need to reset goals and I would also like to hike table rock in September if any one else is interested. We could start with the wind caves if we needed a warm up. Congratulations to Kim and Heather on their 10 mile run yesterday. I am excited to hear about your race on Saturday. Good luck. Hello Friends! I met my exercise goals today. Did pretty good on nutrition but did have a piece of zucchini bread at work today. I also pretty much have a huge craving for Reed's Dairy chocolate moose in a waffle cone!! hmmmm dilemma.

Terrific Tuesday

Hey, I get to be first! It's been great to hear from everyone. I met my goals today. Tuesday is supposed to be my rest day from exercise, but I've felt a little lost without it today. (I know that may sound weird, but I think I'm getting addicted to exercise!) I decided that starting next Tuesday I'm going to do the Saturday ChaLean workout on Tuesdays. I haven't been doing ChaLean on Sat because we've been running so long that day. In case you're wondering, I just completed the first 60 days of the 90 day program. I'm not sure if I look different, but I know I've developed some good muscles which at the moment are hidden under the fat. But once I get rid of the excess, I should be pretty buff haha.

Rainy days and Monday's always get me down...

Well not really...but the song is in my head. Can't you just hear the Carpenters now?? There really is not too much that get's me down, thankfully!! I am happy to report that I lost another lb today, putting my total at 70 since we began the HLC. I have met my goals today with nutrition and plan to head out running in just over an hour. The yummy fresh smells of clean earth and huge rainbows~ who else wants to join Kim and I??? Happy Monday Friends and hoping for great reports.

Happy Saturday Fellow HLC members! I am happy to report I met my goals today. I went to the farmer's market and got lots of fresh yummy produce, which we have enjoyed today. Love this time of year with all the harvest going on!! I hope everyone has enjoyed their day and have met their goals.

We start home today and get to Salt lake late tonight so airport food is my future. I will take a page for the rest of you and do my best. Congratulations to Kim and Mrs. Fields. Hope your dental surgery goes well Kathy. Might be a good weight loss plan during recovery. Does not sound like fun so I hope it is over quickly. Glad you guys had fun in Utah. 10th

Hello everyone! Yea to hear from so many. I had a fantastic time in Utah. I also want to report that yesterday when I weighted myself I had lost 5 lbs!! I am only 2 away from where I wanted to be when I run the half marathon and I have 3 weeks until we run that,, so I am excited about that. However what I am not excited to report is, that I sure didn't meet my nutrition goals that last 2 days. I did however meet my exercises goals. I enjoyed some Mrs. Field's cookies and a few corn dogs. But other then eating those few things I did eat really well, so overall not to shabby. Kim the door is open for you to sweep in and take the cash! :) Have a fantastic Wednesday friends!!

New week to start fresh

Way to go all of you. Heather you are amazing to make cookies and not eat them. What a great mom you are. Have fun at Lagoon. I love it there. Good work the rest of you too. Where have Renae and Elise been? Good to hear from you Kathy. I went to a yoga class today on a pier out in the ocean, great fun and an amazing view. I walked also. Now if I could just quit eating. We are about out of food and are here for two more days so the next few should be easy and the grocery store is very far away and hard to get to. I may be eating lots of coconut. Wonder how many carbs in that.

Successful Sunday

Hello Friends!! Today has been successful for me~ I met my goals. I even made homemade oatmeal/chocolate chip cookies and spaghetti. I had veggies and Chicken and no cookies, while the family had the rest. Yea for me. I won't be able to post tomorrow since I will be at Lagoon. I am going to do my running work out @ 5:30 in the morning though~ so overall it should be a wonderful day. Hope you all have a wonderful start to your successful week!!

Hello from the jungle

We have been out in the jungles of Guatemala for a few days at a mayan ruin called Tikal. It was hard to find any protein to eat so my diet is all out of whack but I walked and hiked until I thought I would fall apart. Lots of monkeys, birds etc. Good on the exercise front not so much on the diet part. So good to have you with us Kathy and congrats on your success. Way to go the rest of you either staying on track or getting back to it. Thanks for your inspiration.

Rainy Tuesday

It has been raining buckets here since about 9:00. Luckily I got in a walk right before it started. I cannot believe the amount of rain that has come down, probably more than Idaho gets all year.

Kathy, it is great to have you join the HLC. Can't wait to hear good news from you about the goals you accomplish. Heather scary to hear your hair is falling out but sounds like you know what to do to gets more nutrients. Good luck with that. Julie, good to hear from you but sorry about the sad news. I never met Kelli but I am sorry for those of you that cared about her. Kim, way to go staying tied with Heather. I am already behind for two days of eating but on track with exercise for all three days and doing well with nutrition today. Can't wait to hear from the rest of you. We miss you Renae and Elise. Hope you are doing great on your goals also. Sorry again to hear about your friend.

Monday the 2nd of August

Hola fellow HLC members. I met my goals today, and yesterday. I realized I told you my goals, but didn't report that I met them. SO far so good this month I am at 100%!! I weighted myself today as I do every Monday and I only lost .6 lbs so I was initially disappointed, but then realized that the body does slow down and that not every week will there be a weight loss on the scale. So I am great with it, I know that if I stick with things it will come. Most likely next week will be a good loss. Hope everyone else is doing great.

Sunday in the sun

Hope it is sunny there. Doing well here. Dave's brother and his wife came to join us and they brought lots of junk food. Been a hard for me today. Exercise good, food bad. Day one of a new month and I am 50%. I would like to hear what people's goals are for the month. I would like to lose some more (5 to 10 pounds). I will do this by eating less than 40 carbs per day and exercising at least one hour five days a week. I will chart my eating and exercise each day (even on vacation) and weigh when I get home and then once a week. What are the rest of you planning? One of us needs to give Heather some competition. Looking forward to hearing your plans.
