Why lift weights if you are a woman

1) You will be physically strong
2) You will lose body fat
3) You will gain strength without bulk
4) You decrease your risk of osteoporosis
5) You will improve your athletic performance
6) You will reduce your risk of injury, back pain and arthritis
7) You will reduce your risk of heart disease
8) You will reduce your risk of diabetes
9) It is never to late to begin
10) You will improve your attitude and fight depression

Thought this was interesting. I do not enjoy lifting but have been making myself do it. I feel stronger. I met my goals today. Hope you did too.

  1. Good points! It's it fantastic what excerise will do for a body. I met my goals and I even took my children and their friends to Pizza Hut. I just ate salad.

  2. Okay-I'm getting lots of exercise here in Boise. It is so nice right now. The weather is perfect--not too hot, but not too cold. The flowers are all blooming. I've loved walking everywhere! Not such a good report on the eating though . . . .Our breakfasts and lunches are provided at this thing I'm at. They serve pretty healthy food, but today lunch was Chinese! Sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, fried rice, etc. So, although I didn't totally pig out, I'm going to have to count today as another no. That makes 3 days for me now- Definitely time to shape up! Also, they have bowls of trail mix, mini candy bars, etc at the table. I've stayed away from the candy, but the trail mix has found it's way into my system. 2 other ladies and I went shopping tonight--good thing. It's still fun to be smaller than I used to be, but I was reminded (by the mirror) that I'm far from where I'd really like to be. So, I'm committing to you all right now . . . I have 2 days left of this class and NO MORE TRAIL MIX!!! And Heather, if you end up with the $75., you deserve it!
